Happy Valentines Day everyone!

I know you should give love everyday, but today is a reminder for anyone that hasn’t shown their loved ones love, respect, and affection. I want to share love and respect, so I made a healthy but very sweet treat for this valentines. Matcha + horchata = Bliss and Love. (It’s also very delicious too!)

Ingredients:

  • 1 Cups Uncooked Jasmine White Rice

  • 2 Cinnamon Sticks

  • Cinnamon Powder

  • 1 Tsp Vanilla extract

  • Maple Syrup

  • 4 Cups of Water

  • 1 1/2 Tsp Matcha Powder

Add rice, 2 cups of water, and cinnamon sticks in a blender. Blitz until cinnamon and rice are crushed. Grab a strainer and pour horchata mix into a pitcher or cup and discard the rice and cinnamon crumbs. Pour horchata into a pot and turn on stove to medium heat. We’re only heating it up not cooking it. (If you cook it too long the rice gets thick and we don’t want that.) Add vanilla extract and cinnamon. Once the horchata is warm, take it off the stove and pour into a pitcher. Add the other 2 cups of water and oat milk. As for sweetener, add as much maple syrup to your liking to get it as sweet as you desire. Let horchata chill in the fridge. Once horchata is chilled, pour chats in a cup to prepare to serve. Now take your matcha and add it to your horchata and mix. You can either whisk it together or put it in your blender for a smoother consistency. I added a little bit more cinnamon on top and now it’s ready to enjoy. Share with your sweetie pies and loved ones!
