Apothe-Cary Recipes: Vitamin Citrus Elixir
Happy Valentines Day love bugs!
I'm starting a new series called ApotheCARY Recipes. (Pretty clever right?) And what better way to start, than sending you healing love on Valentines Day!
Herbal elixirs, tonics, and potions; they go by many names. What do they all have in common? Their herbs and spices contain powerful antioxidant benefits. This series is about healthy tonics that support your health and well-being.
First up: Vitamin Citrus Elixir.
Since it is flu season, it is a GREAT idea to supercharge on vitamin C. Vitamin C is a powerful immunity builder, and we all know that a healthy immune system prevents illnesses. This tonic is packed with natural vitamin C from citrus fruits, but I've added an herbal twist. Make this elixir for you and your loved ones. One of my favorite ways to show that I care about someone, is to take care of their health and well-being.
- 1 Orange
- 1 Grapefruit
- 1 Lemon
- 1 Lime
- 1-2 inches of Peeled Ginger
- Handful of Basil
- 1 Green Tea Sachet
- 1 Tsp Honey
Pass the orange, grapefruit, lemon, lime, peeled ginger, and basil through a juicer. Add the green tea sachet to 1 cup of hot water. Let it steep for a few minutes, then add the honey to the tea and stir. Pour all of the ingredients into a cup.
Now its ready to drink!
I reccomend chasing this elixir with a glass of water.
